There are several popular Charm bracelets currently on the market, such as Pandora Charms, Italian Charms and Trollbeads to name just a few. US based Chamilia Charms are yet another arrival on the charm bracelet scene, with the company founded in the US in 2002.
Although Chamilia charms are not the most popular charm bracelets on the market, they are giving both Pandora jewelry and Trollbeads a run for their money. As with Pandora and Troll beads, Chamilia beads are handcrafted, with a multitude of different designed beads available. They operate under the same principles of adding special charms to a bracelet, specifically to commemorate a special occasion or event in someones life, or even just to give a unique look to a charm bracelet.
The similarities between the popular charm bracelets are many. They are, for the most part interchangeable, meaning that Chamilia charms will fit on both the Pandora and Trollbead bracelets. Charms are made from gold, Sterling silver, Murano glass, and enamel.
The main difference with Chamilia are their actual designs, as obviously each bead produced is different than the charms made by other popular manufacturers. One of the most popular charm sets they’re offering, at least amongst the younger generation, is the Disney collection. They have come up with a collection of 48 Disney beads, in collaboration with Disney studios, which include the famous Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck, and even the newcomer Nemo. Pooh Bear and friends are part of the collection, Eeyore is there, along with Piglet and Tigger. My favourite out of all of the Disney collection is the very delicately crafted Tinkerbell. Not limited to Disney characters only, there is also a very good replication of the Disney Castle, and Cinderella’s Pumpkin Carriage.
They also feature other selections that are unique to Chamilia charms, such as their Swarovski set, and their very popular holiday set. While they may not be as popular yet as Pandora beads or Trollbeads, they are definitely making a statement on the charm jewelry scene, and are definitely a great consideration if you are looking for a cheaper charm bracelet that still offers a very good selection of charms.
